She's Leaving Home

That's it then, she's leaving home! We took her to her sponsors in Truro where she is residing in their reception for the weekend, then on Monday she goes up on top of the Cheese Shop in Truro for her summer pastures. I will miss the Scilly Old Moo.

Right Then

Right then, she is all ready for her varnishing layers.
The Wolf Rock light house is emblazoned on her bottom with wavy tail

A compass rose on the other side and the coordinates for the middle of St Mary's is branded in her ear.

She will be varnished with a UV protective varnish, 2 coats then a matting agent will be included for the final coat, so that she looks very sleek and sophisticated, as far as a Scilly Cow can look like that!

I love her, I hope her sponsors love her. She should be going into her summertime home on Thursday, in Truro, above the Cheese Shop, I will post about that when it happens. I hope she generates a lot of bids when she is auctioned off in September. Well actually I don't hope that because I want to keep her in my garden...forever!

Island Hopping

They are tricky those Scilly Islands but I am gradually getting the shapes right. There will be daffodils and agapanthus on her as these are Scilly flowers. I want her to look great from a distance as well as close up so it is a matter of shape, detail and tone.
This cow has been sponsored by Worldwide Financial Planning FT award winning Independent Financial Advisers
I am hoping that they will be proud of their cow and that she will bring many admiring glances when she goes on display and that she generates lots of money for the Hall for Cornwall when she is sold.

Scilly Cow Gets Islands

Islands get their first coat of paint

Island outlines

The blue is supposed to be the sea

Eyes make her more lovely

Scilly Cow Progress

Here she is, quite at home in the studio space
First coat of blue

Third coat of blue, this will be the sea and need to be a light sea tonally.

She looks a bit strange with blank eyes

So very soon the eyes will appear, to give the scilly cow a kindly expression.

Jacks Cows

I am excited, I have just been asked to paint a cow for Truros herd this summer. I will be taking delivery of one life size fiberglass cow very soon ready for a bit of artistry. The cows are sponsored by businesses and they choose an artist to paint them. They all go on display all over the city for the summer and in September they will be exhibited in the Hall for Cornwall. Then auctioned off to raise money for the Hall for Cornwall. My cow is to be the Scilly Cow, all about the isles of this space, I will post developments.
